Happy New Year!

Goals?

I don't have a ton, but the ones I have are very important (IMO).

All my goals revolve around one thing. Taking care of myself. Selfish? Naw, you have to take care of yourself if you expect to take care of anyone else..

Here's the areas I'm focusing on.

*Buying more things for myself. I started doing this a little before Christmas and it's made a world of a difference. This Christmas, I went shopping for myself (haven't done that in MONTHS!!!) , I got my hair done, my teeth whitened, and James got me a massage. I feel so pampered! (Mostly because I have been), but I feel so much happier and able to give of myself now that I have been taken care of. Seriously, I don't think I need a single thing for a long long time.

*Have more girls night out.  I always get so nervous to ask James to babysit, but he's more then willing. Im going to ask more.

*Run a race. Start training

*Be more assertive (truthful, but still kind) . My feelings have been hurt a lot and I've let people walk over me. It's time to stand up for myself.

*Read my scriptures every day. I've kind of slacked off on this and suffered from the ripple effects. My days don't go as well. I don't get as much done. I'm less patient and less grateful/happy. I've already started reading again and I can already see the blessings. I'm a much better person when I start my day of with scriptures and prayer! I love the scriptures!

--going along with scripture study I'm going to be keeping a journal with it, and write the thoughts that come to mind as I read. I've never done this before and I'm super excited to see how it goes!

*Complain less. I'm gonna try and do a complain fast. Lets see how long I can go!

*Cook more. I'm mostly doing this for my husband, but it will benefit me too. :)

*Do more adventurous things. Maybe next year Ill actually stay up  until Midnight for the new year?

*Go on more dates with my husband (even if it means paying a baby sitter or asking for help)

*Read more books.

* Service. There is one other thing that I already do, but want to keep doing and be even BETTER this year at.. and that is doing kind acts of service.  It doesn't have to be big, just a email, a text, a visit, but I want to do it every week. You could say this is for others, but helping always brings me JOY so I'm saying it still falls in the category of me. :)

and that's about it, I don't know what 2016 will bring, there might be some challenges, bumps, or hiccups, but I'm going to rely on the Lord.. I know he will bless us. I know it!
