Infant to Toddler

I don't know how it happened. I blinked and all of the sudden I have a toddler on my hands.. and very smart, stubborn, active one at that!

A week before her first birthday she took her first steps. A month later. (13 months) She was full on walking.

Now at 14 months. I think it's safe to say shes pretty amazing at not only walking, but running............. away. Especially at church or when we need to go somewhere.

She loves to make messes. Pull out the dvds from the shelf, dump the diapers out the changer, get the pots and pans out of the cabinet, and the list goes on!

She also likes to get in trouble. She thinks its funny. When we take down the baby gate, she climb two stairs..wait for us to notice, and as soon as we do..she laughs and the chase begins. She loves playing tag. She also gets a kick out of calling me dada because it makes me so "mad". Ill point to me and say "mama?" and shell point to me and say "dada" and Ill go "doh! No!" and she busts out laughing. Oh jeez. That child.

Shes very independant. When we try to walk with her she doesn't like holding hands. (We have a baby leash) She sleeps better in her bed then with us...in fact she CAN'T sleep with us. If she's with us.. She thinks its a party.

I don't mean to toot my own horn, but She is SUPER smart and loves to play. She seems a lot older then she is because she just has so much cognitive comprehension and ability. She loves toys that help her learn like her stacker, her shape cut outs, and her big lego blocks.  She loves us growling at her. LOL She laughs and growls back. She's our little monster. She has quite the personality.

Sometimes because she is so independent and so tough I forget that she does have a sensitive side. Even though she likes to figure things out on her own, she doesn't like to be left alone. She's very social and I can tell she's good at reading emotions. Even though she can't talk I know she holds conversations like she can. She's a very caring baby. She's not snuggly, but she does give two second hugs every so often through out the day to let you know she loves you, and shell kiss you if you ask.

The last little while has been oh so challenging. Temper Tantrums galore! At first I was little upset because... well she's never been too difficult of a baby, but then I realized she's getting her 1 year old molars and I'm cutting her some slack. I saw inside her mouth and those look painful! Very swollen. Poor baby!

Her hair is growing so fast. I remember when we could just put a head band on and call it good. Its got a bit of wavy curl at the end and it's blonde! Now to keep that beautiful hair out of the eyes we have to style it. She's great at rocking ponies! Daddy even does them now. (We've trained him so well. )

Words she can say are: Dada, Mama, cat, yum, good, and lately she's been saying pretty.

She saw flowers the other day and she said "Pree. Pree". It was the cutest thing ever. However, I'm not sure she knows the context yet, because she said the same thing about the duster.  Oh! how I love this little girl of mine.

I say it all the time, but if nothing else good came in my life, Id still be more blessed then I could of ever imagined.. all because I have her and my dear sweet husband. They are everything to me.

I love you Olivia Lindsey and James Pinsey ;P!

Hahaha I laughed about the duster! ;) I love those things kids say, and you'll never regret writing them down for a pick-me-up anytime.

I have to agree, and I think you deserve to be blessed like that. You longed to be a mother and now you get to! I'm very happy for you. Happy Mother's Day!
