Confessions of Tvaholic

How I met your Mother
Parenthood
Big Bang Theory

K. Honest moment here. My biggest time waster? TV Don't hate.. appreciate.

We all have them. Things that we waste our time on... (or so I tell myself). It might be facebook/blog/pinterest/movies.. or you might be like me and indulge in the world of TV episodes.

My reasoning/excuse: I work 40 hrs a week at a phone/desk job, and its MENTALLY draining. I seriously love my job... Great people to work with, personal/vacation time, good pay, the schedule I want, and Christmas bonus. Its boring and tedious.. but also very familiar and comfortable. With that being said... 40 hours on the phone... taking a average of 60-100 calls a day, not to mention chats and tickets does something to your brain! Physically I know I am fine. Mentally I'm done. Monday -Friday you could try and entice me to go out to Lagoon for the day.. and I just wouldn't be up for it. I'm exhausted by 4:00 and its a race against time to get home.

When I do get home... I try to straighten and clean the house(nothing super intense) and then shower/pick out the clothes I want to wear for the next day/pack a lunch... and by that time, I practically collapse on the couch.I have 0 desire to go sit and look at the computer screen when thats what I have been doing all day. Hence why I am only on FB a couple times a week for about 10 minutes. (Sorry)

Anyways.. back on topic. I get to the couch and I'm so exhausted I honestly could just crash and go to sleep. Yes.. I am THAT tired, but then I would be up ALL night later paying for it. Plus James (generally gets home about the time I do) and we try to watch it together. Even if its not the whole time because of school/yw/study. We try to make it a priority. So its our "together time" during the week even if its just for 30 minutes before James leaves for school.

You see, we have this method. James is on the left side of the couch, and I'm on the right, I lift up my feet and my husband massages and rubs my legs. My husband is the bomb!!! Don't worry, I thank him every time and count my blessings ;)

So we watch tv and it is AWESOME! TV episodes are fantastic! It mentally relaxes me and takes the edge off the day. After about 1 hour I feel like a human again! I love television.. to me it's better then movies. Has anyone noticed that movies now days are all about special effects and sequels/parts/ making more money? Well *I* have.. and its getting old. The awesome thing about TV, is they have lower budgets and better writers. They quality HAS to be better because they don't have all those extra features. Acting is better too! Sorry... for my rant. Once again moving a long.

I like watching others live their life.. (That sounds creepy), but sometimes it feels good to forget all your problems for a hour or so, and become that person you are watching. You can laugh (comedy) fight crime (drama) or discovery new worlds (sci fi) and it's incredible feeling. I get the same affect with reading... but this way is so much faster and more effective for me.

I know I sound totally lazy and unproductive.. I probably am a little, but contrary to what you may think.. It's not completley true. Most people our age with out kids, going to school full time, working full time, doing film projects, holding callings, working out SHOULD take a little "me" time. and for for right now...

I'm justifying it and thats okay :)

So my recent obsession(s): How I met your mother, Parenthood, and Big Ban Theory.

They have all these on Netflix (which I decided to keep) but guess what? I've finished them all ! (The current episodes are only on TV and I am never home when they play)

I'm heartbroken. ha ha. Well kinda! So this is me reaching out to all you peeps!!!Rescue me. I need some suggestions!

What do you watch? What things do you enjoy?

Thank you Kira for letting me understand my husband more. He is the EXACT same way when he gets home from work and I have never really understood it. I was like "you sit at a computer all day it's not that bad". Thank you, i will from now on let him have some down time when he gets home before being a nagging wife with a to-do list. :)

LOL Kira, you are so funny! I understand though... and thanks to you, you got me addicted to series! HHMMM Things that I waste my time on ... TV for sure and books. Just finished the Ugly series. They were pretty good, I only wish that I would have read them before The Hunger Games.
