I feel pretty stupid because I don't have any fun/cute pictures to post, but since my blog is also my journal.. I'm gonna note down everything I did.
Wednesday: I got off work and went to Walmart to go grocery shopping. Yes this was crazy.. but they cranked up the holiday music and everything was stocked up and loaded. It was crazy in the grocery section, but lines were not that bad. It was kind of fun seeing all the people prepare for the holiday...
Thursday (Thanksgiving Day):I went to the gym I worked out HARD for two hours... It was so much fun though. No one was there, so I got first choice of the machines , and I just chit chatted with my friends and laughed. It felt great to burn calories before intaking them!
I got home just in time to FIRST take a shower before I had to take my husband to work... the water was warm and relaxing. Then James and I drove to his work. It was kind of a bummer that he had to work, but at the same time, he gets paid time in a half, and he would be out before dinner.. so we were okay with it. :)
I drove home, cleaned the house, got some rolls ready, took a nap, played online and then went to pick James up. We headed over to the in laws house and chatted with Emily + Chris and Biz + Chris. It was fun talking just as couples laughing and getting a long waiting for the food to be served.
Finally, we all sat down to dinner at 5:30 to eat, and everything looked AND tasted soooo good. I was kind of worried I would indulge too much and regret it later, Or I thought the family would pressure me to eat more then I wanted... but neither of those happened. I had just enough to feel satisfied and full :) It was great. The only reason I didn't completely go all out eating on Thanksgiving is because James and I were going to get some black Friday shopping done and go out to dinner.
After dinner we all laughed and just had a great time. It was nice to just spend time with one family instead of trying to stress on howto divide our time between families. I loooved that aspect and it's completely fair becuase the Morris'swill be out for Christmas, so we will get to be with the Hansen/Hunsaker family then.
James and I went home and snuggled up and watched TV and then called it night.
Friday: I woke up, went to the gym, showered, got ready, made breakfast and woke James up. We just relaxed for a few hours and ate lunch together, watched a tv show and then headed over to Walmart.Just to see if they had any good deals. Yes, it was a bit crazy and hectic, but nothing we couldn't handle. We didn't have anything specific that we had in mind, we just went there to browse. Weeeeeeelllll, we went strolling all through the store and found some kitchen glasses for 10 bucks! So we bought them for us! Then we found some awesome *cough cough* (can't disclose too many details)great gifts to give to our parents that was RIGHT in our budget limit. We just happen to fall into those bargains, and it was the best unplanned purchase I have ever made! :)
Then we headed up to Sandy to the megaplex to see a movie. We had some time to waste so we walked around and visited all the shops. The first place we went to was this chocolate factory shop where they make home made truffles! They were kind of pricey, but once you took one bite into them it was worth it. We bought a couple and shared.

The movie was about to start so we decided to head back. We went and saw the Muppets and it was SO adorable/cute/funny! I fully endorse taking your family this holiday to go see it! No garbage in it, just good family fun!

After that we headed to SLC to our favorite(besides Cafe Rio)Mexican Restaurant (Red Iguana)and got in line. We were kind of bummed because the wait was about a hour long, and very crowded. The lady asked us if we would like to eat at the bar and we said we didn't mind.(We really don't! I like it... I get to sit closer to my honey!) They took us within 5 or so minutes of waiting. It was AWESOME! It was like the fast pass at Disneyland! :)
We got a mole sampler plate, a appetizer, and we both got the combo plate. (See.. NOOOOW you understand why I didn't eat much on Thanksgiving) but it was totally worth it! :)We finished our meals and then did even a little more shopping. Can any girl really ask for more?

We were going to go to the Lights at Temple Square but decided it was really windy and we could go another time this month.
Saturday: was a very chill day, but it was STILL super awesome. I took James to work, cleaned the house and then texted some of my friends. Lily responded and we decided to do a Wallie run. So she picked me up and we headed to Walmart to buy some Christmas stuffers to put in our family stockings. It was fun! We also scored some free water bottles at Noble Sports and even had time to go browse the cute holiday attire at Rod works. :)
By the time we got home, James texted me and surprised me with some great news! He was getting sent home early! I gladly obliged to pick him up knowing that I would actually get to eat dinner with him!
Sunday: I woke up for a Presidency meeting for YW and then went to church with James. We came back home had a wonderful nap, decorated the house and put up our tree, and ate a yummy crock pot dinner and cheesecake for dessert!
Later that night, all the lights were out and I stood looking out at our cute little decorated apartment and the beautifully lit tree and I felt the warmest happiest sensation come over me... I have been given so much, and I am so blessed. I truly use to loathe this time of the year, but I have changed.... and I am grateful for the opportunity to spend time reflecting and spending time with the people that matter the most.
I love the Holidays!
