In loving Memory.

These are just two pictures I have of the funeral. It's pictures of dear family that are still living. This is my angelic Grandma Shirley. I have so many wonderful and truly great memories with this great woman. She has taught me so much. She herself, has lost 3 sons and now Garth,  Yet she is strong, and happy. If she has taught me anything, its that death is not a tragedy, and all is well. All is well. How grateful I am for her in my life!

And this picture is a picture of my favorite uncle Kirk. Just looking at him and talking to him reminds me of my Dad.  He too, has Mytonic Dystrophy, just like my Dad did, and my brother KC. I call him and sometimes we quite literally talk for hours. He is the funniest guy! He told me today "IF you are bald in the back, it means you are sexy, If you are bald in the front, it means you think a lot and if you are bald everywhere, it means you think you are sexy." He always knows how to make me laugh and to smile just as my Dad did.

My Uncle Garth Blackburn died this week. His funeral was held today. This was a good thing. Garth was autistic, and during the last part of his life, he had many physical problems. He had blood clots, went into cardiac arrest, had kidney problems, but finally he was able to join his Mother, and so many other loved ones. He no longer has any pain and no limitations. One summer I got to know my uncle Garth very well. I spent a week with my grandparents, and I got to spend a lot of time with Garth. He loved clocks, construction work, the movie : back to the future, and he was very good with remembering dates. He never forgot my birthday, I always thought he might, but he never did even after several years. He was very soft spoken, but he did like to be around people. He had a great smile and he is a great person. I am glad to have known him.
