My husband teases me about listening to Christian Rock/music. In LDS culture, most of the music we listen to and are specifically sung in the church are hymns. It is a different style. The hymns have a more reverent, quiet approach. We believe the spirit generally speaks in a still small voice (most often) and the words written in the hymns invite that.

Our Faith also tells us their is truth everywhere-not just from one culture, one person, religion, or even genre of music.  In fact it's in our 13th article of faith it states ^aWe believe in being ^bhonest, true, ^cchaste, ^dbenevolent, virtuous, and in doing ^egood to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we ^fhope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to ^gendure all things. If there is anything ^hvirtuous,ⁱlovely, or of good report or 
praiseworthy, we seek after these things."

Christian Rock for me may not be very "quiet" or completely "reverent", but it's certainly is promoting goodness.
