I woke up, went to the gym, saw Julie and she reminded me our friend Jessica Foulger was running the half! Go JESS! I was so excited, we both laughed and giggled and made Roy feel uncomfortable (insiders)
Then I went tanning, and drove over to the race. This was my first race watching the people cross the finish line, but it got me totally excited and pumped up! There were men and women of all ages and body types running. The thing I enjoyed the most was watching the people's faces hit the finish line. Not a single person was not smiling.
I stood by Dave (Marci's Husband) and kids, and just chatted. I later found out my uncle Richard, John and even my Cousin Jamie were running the races. We all were just standing around when suddenly Marci came running in gracefully and gave us the thumbs up sign! Her time was 3:35!!!!!!!! Those of you that don't know much about PR or running, let me tell you.. that is a AWESOME time. So awesome that she now qualifies for Boston.
Marci came over with tears in her eyes and hugged us all. I started to get teary too. This is a very emotional event. I love her so much, She is my role model. Probably why I have the most awesome friends, They are all alot like her!(They also run a lot) I know how much she wanted to get her 3:40 time, and she BEAT IT. I know she worked hard, and trained hard, just like everyone does So many hours of practice and sweat go into it but honestly I think thats the best part of running- Its very rewarding to know you achieved something very hard that not very many people can do. :)
Congrats Marci and Jessica!
YOU DID IT!
