Primary 2010

I just got called to Primary!!! I teach the 10 year old class and when i first got called,I was bit scared. Its hard to know what maturity level there at, when you don't have kids of own. So i just prepared my lesson as best as i could. I got to class and there are 14 kids, Only 10 came, but 10 is a lot to teach by YOURSELF!!!( i do have a partner... and the great great thing about it, is we take turns teaching. So when i teach, she goes to class, and when she teaches i go to class. I'm really lucky to have that, cuz its great to teach and make your own contribution, but its also helps to be taught and be edified by the spirit- so i get the best of both worlds!! lucky me!)  There pretty good kids, and my lesson went well. NOT perfect by any means, but well get better :) They all said they liked me the best, and that was really pretty--so that was a confidence boost. It couldn't have been that bad right?  There are some things i really would like to work on and that is getting EVERYONE to participate... it seems like there are a couple who are kind of shy,and couple class clowns( who will be my little helpers so they dont get us off track) so i want to balance it out. I also hope to incorporate scriptures into our lessons. There old enough to start looking for the answers in them. My hardest struggle was not class time, but actually primary when they were with the rest of the students. I think when your the oldest you feel you rule the house so you can do whatever you want, so i want to look for incentives to give the kids for being good. any moms or primary leaders. i would REALLY appreciate any suggestions!!!!
